Recently, AIoT enterprise Terminus, in partnership with the School of Medicine at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, has reached a strategic cooperation agreement to provide a comprehensive end-to-end Terminus AIoT solution for its upcoming Pudong campus.
This cooperation aims to meet the detailed operation and management needs of the campus, integrate and analyze critical research and operational data from the campus's laboratories to ensure the safety, precise operation of teaching and research environments, and enhance the campus's energy efficiency and carbon management capabilities.
In the field of medical research, the stability of the experimental environment is crucial, especially concerning environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, and wind direction, which require strict control to avoid contamination and cross-contamination. To this end, the Terminus AIoT solution adopts an end-edge-cloud collaborative architecture, ensuring the security and controllability of research spaces through close cooperation between central management systems and edge service systems, combined with the deployment of numerous intelligent environmental control devices.
Specifically, Terminus will centrally deploy a main control center in the control room on the first floor of the research building, using a central server system to manage all intelligent environmental control devices across the campus. Additionally, each building will be equipped with an independent management service system to locally manage their respective experimental spaces.
According to different experimental needs, the Terminus AIoT team developed precise control strategies for each experimental scenario, including air volume control, residual pressure control, and temperature and humidity control. Various sensors will collect environmental data from the experimental spaces in real-time and feedback the information to the central control platform to ensure that environmental changes can be monitored and adjusted promptly to avoid anomalies.
Furthermore, the Terminus AIoT system has self-learning capabilities. The cloud and edge-side management systems can optimize environmental control strategies based on different scenarios, allowing the system to evolve continually and achieve higher levels of intelligence and automation.
The Pudong campus of the School of Medicine at Shanghai Jiao Tong University covers an area of approximately 435 acres. The overall design incorporates the concept of "inclusive and harmonious integration of East and West" and includes various spatial regions covering campus, living, and ecological areas.
The campus includes newly constructed buildings such as the administration building, comprehensive medical teaching building, comprehensive experimental teaching building, medical research center, life sciences museum, and medical research cluster. These areas will provide robust support for medical education and research. The Terminus AIoT solution will mainly be applied to core areas such as the research building, life sciences museum, and research auxiliary building, promoting the upgrade of the research environment on the campus through intelligent means.
Prior to this, the Terminus AIoT solution has been successfully applied in multiple education and medical fields, promoting smart upgrades for renowned institutions such as Beijing School, South China Normal University Affiliated Middle School, and Longcheng International Rehabilitation Hospital. Through continuous innovation and practice, Terminus is committed to applying AIoT technology to more vertical industry scenarios to provide more intelligent and efficient solutions, helping various industries move towards an intelligent future.
